Product of the Week: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils

If there is ever a beauty buy, I think that I have found it. We saw glazed and metallic eye lids all over the runway last fall. And since then, I have been searching for shiny shadows that would create that texture and shine. I found the perfect subtle alternative to J. Mendel’s metallic eye and Hakaan’s overly glazed peach lids with these jumbo eye pencils by NYX. Sold at Ulta for only $3 ($4.50 on their website), they are the perfect buy!

Created out of mineral oil and powder, the liners glide onto the skin without caking. They can be used as a shadow or a liner to create that rich, shiny look. And most have that metallic feel as well. I bought Bronze, a dark copper that is subtle enough for daily use but coated dark enough, it provides the perfect night look. And it’s a great break from the super trendy gold right now!

I also purchased Rocky Mountain Green that appears as a forest green but when applied, is much lighter — closer to an aqua (bluish green?!) I wore it to the office but felt it was a little too bold for everyday use. Instead, I may pair it with my LBD for the next holiday festivity!
